Robert Hughes

Robert Hughes brought decades of experience, taste, and musical companionship to Central Ohio blues. His creative partnership with Bob Hughes began in the 1960s and, after time apart, resumed in the early 2000s with the same shared commitment to blues and R&B.

In 2007, Hughes became part of Teeny Tucker’s touring band, performing nationally and internationally in Canada and Europe. His work took him to major stages including Buddy Guy’s Legends, the Chicago Blues Festival, and a festival at the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center in Indianola, Mississippi. Influenced by artists such as Albert Collins, Paul Butterfield, Ray Charles, Little Walter, B.B. King, and Muddy Waters, Hughes translated a lifetime of listening into performances marked by feeling, respect, and an enduring love of the blues.
