Sean Carney 

Sean Carney is an internationally recognized guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and bandleader whose career has carried the sound of Columbus blues around the world. Known for elegant phrasing, swing, and a deep command of blues tradition, he has performed in clubs and festivals across North America and Europe.

Carney’s 2007 International Blues Challenge victory, along with the event’s Albert King Award for best guitarist, brought national attention to both his work and his hometown scene. His recordings and collaborations reveal a musician equally committed to craft, history, and ensemble playing. At home, he has mentored developing artists, supported community programs, and remained an active ambassador for the Columbus Blues Alliance. His induction honors artistic excellence and a career spent representing Central Ohio with generosity and distinction.
